Stuffed Animal Surgery

You would think, after reading the post title, that the surgery would be for one of my kids stuffed animals...Yeah, no.  It's for Mr. H2.  :)

He had a stuffed St. Bernard when he was a little toddler, which he named Garage.  Garage is the only thing from his childhood that he has kept.  Not like a security blanket or anything, just a wonderful memento of a time when things were easy.  Over the years Garage has suffered some wear and tear.  Our girls have drug him around, my husband has used him as a pillow (just because he is stuffed and on the bed does not make him OR my decorator pillows fair game!).  By the by, he has gotten pretty squished.

Here he is before his pre surgery machine wash.

There is a pretty good tear above his nose, but you can't really see it.  Look at that skinny face!

He already had a good sized tear at a seam on his neck so the tiny sewing scissors snipped away until there was a big enough incision to fit my hand through.  Then I removed all of his old stuffing!  It was a total stuffing transplant.  I stitched up the gash above his nose and repaired some tears to his flappy jowls.  Garage was then restuffed and now he just looks so much cuter!

His face is fuller and his legs are full enough to actually semi support him.

A pretty successful procedure if I do say so myself!  His little red, white and blue collar even fits him now!

Hello!

I have a stuffed animal JUST like this one and have been searching for an original. I have had mine for 35 years! His name is Oggy Ben Doggie after Obi Wan Kenobi (of course). Do you know the brand name for stuffed dog? I have been Google searching "vintage Ty Saint Bernards", but other brands have been showing in the pics.

Thank you for any info!
