I absolutely love anything that organizes and de-clutters. And if it can look kind of cute and fill wall space (I hate blank walls!) then even better.
I love the magnetic makeup boards that are floating around on pinterest. I made one for my bathroom and one for the girls bathroom.
Here's how I did mine!
I looked and looked for flat sheet metal. Everything at the hardware store had ridges and I wanted it to be as smooth as possible. I ended up purchasing a cheap magnetic dry erase board. I also grabbed an 11x14 frame from Walmart.
The plastic framing came off really easy, like I said, cheap.
I removed the thick cardboard backing carefully so I didn't bend the thin metal.
The dry erase board seemed like it was a smidge skinnier than the frame backing so I spray painted both pieces a beautiful teal so that there was no chance that ugly spots would show through.
I framed it without the glass. It looked a bit plain so I used a white paint pen to jot down a little note to myself and then super glued a metal pencil holder basket that I found at the Dollar Tree to use as a brush holder.
I stuck craft magnets on the back of the makeup compacts and attached them to the board. The eyeliner gel and the lipsticks are round so the magnets only worked if they were attached to the bottoms. Since they are down where the basket is sticking out it really doesn't look odd.
And I love the fact that when I take the items off to apply them I'll have a little self esteem message!
