Thankful for Holiday Cleaning

There is nothing like the holidays to get you into cleaning mode.  Moms love it, children hate it...I love throwing out the junk, hauling off stuff to the Goodwill donation center and discovering things you completely forgot you had!

I have decorated with found treasures.  I have vacuumed, scrubbed, cleaned out cabinets, painted, the list goes on and on...Now, as I finally take a breathe the eve of Thanksgiving, I glance around my room that I have only slept in during the past week.  Man, it is really cluttered in here...

Happy Turkey Day!!!

Days Inn, The Woodlands

So, Mr. Harris and I just got back from a pretty fun weekend.  As always, I took a ton a pictures!  I'm going to break them up into different blog sections.  First is my review of our hotel!  Trevor always thinks I'm a bit off because I photograph our hotel room first thing when we check in.  I like to do that, I'm not sure why...

Review of room - clean, great price (only $80.00 per night, way cheaper than a lot of the others!) recently renovated, pretty good size...

Polymer Clay Turkey Earrings

I made these turkeys for the upcoming holidays!  Looking at the close up photo you can see where they really could be sanded.  When I wear them you can't really tell!

Indians Ring and Pilgrims Pendant

I made this ring from polymer clay!  So tiny!!

I started with a base of white and blended some blue for the sky and some green for grass.  I just used the sharp pointy tool to try to make it look like a grassy field.

Little Indian heads!

The ring size is about 1 inch by 1 inch.

Almost ready to bake - I just needed to add the border.

The finished glazed product.  I actually think I prefer unglazed.  I think you lose some detail when it is so shiney.

You can't have Thanksgiving without the Pilgrims!  I made this as a pendant.
